My first story to be published in the past year was “I’ll Kill for Rain” at Inscape Magazine.
It’s a quirky story that I didn’t think would be published. To try to simmer it down to one sentence, the story is about a man trying to deal with more than just the heat.
The catalyst for “I’ll Kill for Rain” was the image of a man sitting in a camp chair with a handgun in his lap. The title came pretty easily. Inscape did suggest some edits to get it closer to flash fiction, and it came in at around 1050 words.
